Cognitive Dissonance

If you are against hate crime or racism, but you have a negative assumption about someone’s ability in languages based on their ethnicity. You are suffering from cognitive dissonance.

According to the internet, cognitive dissonance occurs when a person holds contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values, and is typically experienced as psychological stress when they participate in an action that goes against one or more of them.

I have never encountered more dogma, more sophistry, more illogical attacks and more hate in my entire life.

Knowledge is indeed very powerful, it gives you the strength to fight for yourself, the lens to view the world, the equanimity to remain unbroken.

In contrast, little knowledge is catastrophic. People often miss the point of a person’s argument. Things like straw man, ad hominem, the composition fallacy are rampant and plague modern society.

It’s time to learn and get educated. Read the history so you don’t make the same mistakes. Learn economics so you understand the true nature of human beings. Study mathematics so you can process analytically. Assimilate the scientific method so that you can re-evaluate your judgement on things. Read fiction so you can develop empathy and sympathy for other sentient beings.

Learn to really THINK. I just think most people haven’t thought much in their lives.
